Kuching Waterfront
The Kuching Waterfront, a landscaped promenade along the banks of the Sarawak River was an important place in the founding of the city. Historical buildings like the Chinese History Museum, the Sarawak Steamship Building and the Square Tower stand alongside modern restaurants, artistic water displays and local food stalls.

Main Bazaar
Main Bazaar is the oldest street in the city and a renown antique arcade. Souvenir hunters can discover an assortment of traditional brassware, pottery, tribal arts and jewellery in the many treasure troves housed in old Chinese shophouses.

Tua Pek Kong Temple
The Tua Pek Kong temple is the oldest Chinese temple in Kuching, believed to have been built in the early 1840s. Many religious festivals are held here and makes for a colourful display of culture and tradition.

Cat Museum
The Cat Museum is the world’s first museum devoted entirely to the animal the city has adopted as its mascot. Here, feline fanatics can marvel in an exhibition of imagery, statuettes, craft and much more collected from all over the world.

Sarawak Museum
The Sarawak Museum, reputed to house one of the best collections of artefacts in this part of the world, comprises of two wings. The older wing is beautifully designed in the style of an old Normandy townhouse. The new wing across the road contains a reconstruction of early human settlements of the Niah Caves.

Court House
Another historical colonial landmark is the Court House, built in 1883 as the seat of local government. Now the home of Sarawak Tourism Board or Sarawak Tourism Complex, this charming collection of buildings include the colonial-baroque Clock Tower and the Charles Brooke Memorial.

Fort Margherita
Fort Margherita was built in 1879 to guard Kuching’s river from approaching pirates. Named after Charles Brooke’s wife, the Rani Margaret, the building now houses a police museum with fascinating exhibits of Brooke militaria.

Sunset River Cruise
This trip offers a panoramic view of Kuching City where the quaint mix of modern architecture standing interspersed amongst old landmarks makes for a charming sight. Enjoy the vibrant colours of the setting sun as the cruise takes you down the Sarawak River, passing through the many historical buildings and sites of interest.

Bako National Park
Just 37 kilometres by road from Kuching Sarawak, Bako is easily visited in a day. But you will miss much of Sarawak’s oldest national park if you don’t stay overnight in one of it’s comfortable huts. Bako National Park is rich with an abundance of flora and fauna with at least seven major types of vegetation typical of Sarawak. Although it is one of Southeast Asia’s smallest national parks it contains almost every type of vegetation found in Borneo. Bako National Park is a recommended trekking destination.

Sarawak Cultural Village
Tucked away on the foothills of legendary Mount Santubong, 35 km away from Kuching is Sarawak’s fascinating cultural showcase, the award winning “Sarawak Cultural Village”. This living museum depicts the heritage of the major racial groups in Sarawak and conveniently portrays the respective lifestyle amidst 14 acres of equatorial vegetation.

Semenggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre
The Semenggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is a perfect place to mingle with the orang utans. This centre is part of the Semenggoh nature reserve which consists of Semenggoh Bio Centre, a Botanical Garden, Forest Nursery, a Seed Bank, Herb Ethnobotany Centre, Fern and Orchid Garden.
